Congratulations to Lance and Tor for being the first to acheive their Yellow Belts on their Passports. Push-ups, sit-ups, mountain climbers, coaches challenge....way to go boys!

The 2nd Annual 2002 Stars Golf Outing was held at Cattails Golf Course in South Lyon on August 27th and it was a "hole" lot of fun!

The winner of this year's 50/50 raffle went home with over $1300.00!!  The winner generously donated $200.00 back to the team.  Thank You! There were many great items sold at the Silent Auction including a helicopter ride, Ted Lindsay signed stick and puck, Joey Kocur signed photo and puck, ecoStore gift basket, Oakley sunglasses, and so much more.

The price was the same as last year at $95 per golfer.  This included 18 holes, food at the turn, a steak dinner and a great time!  Tee-off was at 2:00pm.  Join us next year, the last Saturday in August, for a fun afternoon and to help send our 2002 Stars (and future NHLers) on their way to another great season!

Some might think the big news in Pittsburgh for the weekend of Jan 15-17th 2011 was the Steelers win over the Ravens, but their win paled in comparison to the 2002 Stars Championship win at  the Three Rivers tournament!

The Championship game was a nailbiter until the final buzzer sounded. The Stars went up 3-2 in the third and in the final 6 seconds the Stars were down a player and the oppossing team pulled their goalie to make it a 6 on 4! Parents were passing out in the stands, coaches were standing on the bench in anticipation (not really, but it was exciting!)  After the game I think the goalie said it best, "I am so happy right now, you have no idea how happy I am!"
